Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Afghani Chef to lead the preparation of authentic Afghan dishes. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of traditional Afghan cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients. This position plays a vital role in delivering a rich culinary experience that reflects the flavours and culture of Afghanistan.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook traditional Afghan dishes such as Kabuli Pulao, Mantu, Bolani, Qorma, Kebab, Ashak, Afhgani Naan, and more.
• Maintain the authentic taste and presentation of Afghan food.
• Develop and update the menu with both classic and modernized Afghan recipes.
• Ensure food quality, hygiene, and safety standards are consistently met.
• Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory, food prep, and storage.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff on Afghan cooking methods where needed.
• Source or suggest sourcing of authentic Afghan ingredients and spices.
• Collaborate with management to plan special events focused on Afghan culture.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with local food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience of 2 years as a Chef specializing in Afghan cuisine.
• Deep understanding of Afghan culinary traditions, spices, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication skills and teamwork attitude.
• Formal culinary training is a plus but not required if experience is strong.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Proven experience as a Chef or similar role, with a focus on Pakistani Traditional Cuisine and cooking techniques. In-depth knowledge of operation, temperature control, Traditional Grill, and traditional marinades. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities, working collaboratively with the kitchen staff. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the restaurant industry. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications would be an advantage. Ability to create authentic flavours using a variety of spices and ingredients specific to Pakistani cuisine (Lahori Food)
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
